RESTORATIVE YOGA:
Restorative yoga is a gentle, slow-paced style of yoga that focuses on relaxation and stillness to promote physical and mental wellness. It's different from more active yoga styles that focus on strength or flexibility, and instead emphasizes comfort and finding poses that feel good. Restorative yoga sessions often involve holding poses for five to ten minutes or longer, with the help of props like blankets, bolsters, or blocks.
Our restorative yoga classes invite you to come to class with the intention of relaxation. Our goal is to facilitate safe, calm, and comfortable poses that help you relax every part of your body.

TRAUMA-SENSITIVE YOGA:
Trauma-sensitive yoga uses physical postures & movements in a way that emphasizes safety, empowers choice, and provides practices and tools for mind/body integration. This kind of yoga can encourage nervous system regulation through both standing and sitting postures. This type of yoga also encourages you to notice when you feel safe, soothed, and secure. Part of the skill of a trauma-informed teacher is to facilitate present-state awareness and offer opportunities for you to choose what brings you peace and or balance. Over time, trauma-sensitive yoga can help you build coping skills and make choices that support you transition from hyper- or hypo-arousal to a balanced, more connected, embodied state of being.

The postures & movements will be trauma-sensitive, meaning you will always having the choice of how and whether to participate. You will always be offered a way to give yourself a pause and return to practice as or when you are ready. Breathing practices are a part of trauma-sensitive classes; you can grow more confident and aware of your breath—as the breath connects your mind and your body.

Our trauma-sensitive yoga facilitators are registered yoga teachers and recommend that trauma-sensitive yoga classes not replace licensed talk therapy but can be supplemental.

I won't give you a diet or exercise routine. I will though, help you identify and understand through compassion and curiosity--your relationship with food and your body. When we can take a deeper look at how we became anxious, disconnected, and judgmental--we can begin replacing our thoughts and behaviors with kindness and acceptance.

I can help you learn how to nurture your health more holistically through mindful eating, food confidence, consistent connection with your body and understanding your own story of disordered eating and the path forward to peace with food and your body.

Wherever you are in your journey with food and your body, when we can learn how to replace shame with love--it is no small feat.

Relationship to Money Coaching

Sessions are customized to work with what you need help with, whether it is practical in nature like creating a budget, figuring out how to get out of debt, or even just getting a handle on your financial situation and picture. Sessions can also work with your feelings and patterns around money and how those impact how you handle money.

Financial stress, strain, and worry are linked to significant psychological and physical health outcomes. From the moment I loaded my car with all my belongings in PA and moved across country to WA for school and a job at Pizza Hut, I’ve been invested in finding financial stability and security. What I have experienced and learned along the way, both through training and experience, makes me passionate about resourcing and helping those who are stressed about money or struggling with their finances with both practical knowledge and tools, as well as mindsets that can help build stability and flourishing.

As a white, cisgendered male, I have benefitted from systemic privilege, but I come from a hard-working family where there were no handouts. I have been self-employed most of my adult life, and had to figure out how to manage money, plan for retirement (no pension), and pay for such things as health insurance, on my own. As a real estate agent for over 25 years who has earned a reputation as one of the top agents in the Northwest, I have navigated the ups and downs of the market, both with myself and with a wide, diverse range of clients. My expertise in negotiating the best deals for my clients carries over into my desire to help others get what they want.

I am a co-host of the real estate radio show, “Street Talk” on KNWN 97.7 FM, an off-ice official for the NHL where I work Seattle home Kraken games, mostly sitting in the penalty box, coordinating with networks when the game goes to commercial. The skills needed for these side gigs, as well as officiating high-level local youth hockey, helps me look at both the big picture but also see the little things that make the difference. My marketing and management degree, my experience as a consumer credit counselor, and my ongoing commitment to excellence in all areas (cross-fit anyone?), all contribute to my ability to help you navigate your financial situation.

I know about hard work and sticking with things. I am most proud of my 31 years with my partner, Kim, and our family. Over the course of my family life, there have been numerous challenges where I’ve learned a lot about finding resources and help for an array of issues.

Favorite movies are “Dave” and “Bank of Dave”. I am solidly a 70’s and 80’s music fan. If a gas tank falls below half-full, someone other than me was driving the car.
